Well that was an interesting week - don't think I've been to Shads for about a year, so yeah, wow, they've like extended it and shit. Also saw Episode 2 at last (who ordered the clone army?! ha ha) which was v enjoyable & thankfully less cheesy than expected. And Yoda rocked. Saturday, went out for coffee with a charming lass who shall be know as 'girl a' until further notice. :) Drove to mangawai for a curry for Megan's birthday, then back to Akl to catch up with Alex & a workmate in Ponsonby. Went out to Sponge and then downtown to Coyote Ugly, which rocked. Have you been to this place? Fuck! they light the bar on fire and the bar staff (all female) then dance on the bar! while its on fire! Shutup, its not a titty bar. And they do a fire-breathing thing! Then we drove up Queen St playing Temple of Love at like a thousand decibels - ha! what wankers! Anyway I had way too much energy drink (like 3), couldn't sleep and now feel suitably shitty.
Bye.

Omygod Milla rocked my world in Resident Evil! She kicks ass. Who says you don't need a dress to fight zombies? After playing the game, it all seems like a bit of a joke, but putting that aside, this movie rocks. Pity too about the number of ideas borrowed from other sci-fi movies (Aliens, Cube, Fifth Element, ...?), but I'll still give it a place in my top 10 sci-fi movies. I'm not actually sure what the others are, other than that the aforementioned are in it.

Deep Swing were a bit disappointing, all they did was spin discs. You can see/hear that anywhere, and not have to pay $45. But House of Downtown made up for that somewhat. Go NZ house music! I should learn my lesson wrt these house gigs. Freestylers and Moby did the same to me when they 'played' live. It sucks big time if you ask me.

Yay, I'm going to the Deep Swing gig on Friday 14th (you know, "I've got the love ... in the music" and all that). It's gonna be bigger than the Pacific. The only thing I'm worried about is f'n teeny boppers ("O this is like soooo cool", Dave: "Fuck off!, Can't you see I'm trying to have fun?"). But it is house music (house music is far more intelligent than other forms of dance/club music) so should hopefully attract a more mature audience. If you want to go I'm buying tickets tomorrow (45 smackos), so email me. Alex and Jarrod are definates too. Vicki, the offer still stands if only you can only teleport yourself to AKL and back to Whangarei.

Come on guys, Spiderman wasn't that great. Apart from a few good fight scenes, and of course Dafoe, there's not a lot on offer except your cardboard comic book characters and a transparent plot. Although I do admit to being entertained.
Who was that girl I met in the candy queue before the movie? Do you know her, she was about 5' 3" or so, straight dark hair, black framed glasses, cute smile and she was at the private screening? I'm such an idiot, I didn't even get her name. I think she was sitting three or four rows behind me.
I just had brunch with Oona and Yolande. Yolande's ferret is very sick - it has a neurological disorder and can't walk anymore although is otherwise ok. I suggested to the vet that we make it a small electric vehical which Khan could steer with his tongue. He would love it. Wouldn't that just be the craziest thing? An electric ferret, zooming around the floor and jumping over ramps and down stairs and so on.

vicki's unabated enthusiasm for live journal was so infectious i had to give it a try. fear addiction imminent. i've read some people's entries and find it amazing what they are prepared to reveal in writing what they never say in person - not that this is a bad thing. i fact i think its very positive; i'm a firm believer of saying what you mean. it takes guts and doesn't always make for smooth sailing but. i can see this huge undercurrent of opinions and feelings here which makes our regular dialogue appear only to scratch the surface of reality. i'll watch with interest.
i need some more friends! please let me know who you are - you all have such incomprehensible user names. i've added a few i know of.
